What do I need to do to sign up for The BankLink System?

All you need to do is talk to your Accountant, who will recommend one of the BankLink Client Tools and give you an authority form to sign!

Do I need a computer or software to use The BankLink System?

No you don't. The BankLink System can operate in a number of ways - from a simple paper based report through to an easy-to-use computer based cashbook system.

Do I need to know about accounting to use The BankLink System?

No. The BankLink System is designed to allow business people to focus on what they do best - running their business. You do not need to have any accounting knowledge to use BankLink.

Is The BankLink System secure?

Absolutely. The BankLink System complies with the strict security requirements demanded by all of the major banks. Your statement data can be sent to your Accountant only with your permission, and the file is sent in an encrypted format so no-one but your Accountant can read it.

Is my bank data safe?

Yes it is. BankLink works within the strict security provisions of the banks and other financial institutions. BankLink collects this data directly from the bank, and forwards it to your Accountant using an encrypted data file. The BankLink System is safer than the paper bank statement in your letterbox.

Will other people be able to access my money?

Absolutely not. BankLink merely collects an electronic copy of your paper bank statement – it is a historical record of your past transactions, not a system which allows any transactions or changes to be made.

Will I still get my normal bank statement?

Yes, you will still get your bank statement as normal.

Will the bank charge me more?

No, there are no additional bank charges for The BankLink System.

What will it cost me?

All charges relating to The BankLink System are charged to your Accountant. Your accountant will be able to advise whether these will be passed directly on to you, or combined into your total accounting fees.

How do I get onto The BankLink System?

To put your accounts onto BankLink, you need to complete and sign a Third Party Authority Form. This form instructs your bank to provide BankLink with your statement data, so that this can be forwarded to your Accountant.

What if I change banks?

If you change banks or bank accounts, you will need to complete and sign a new Third Party Authority Form. It is important to advise your Accountant before you change banks so that continuity of data can be assured.
