What's new?

Provisional Accounts

Our new Provisional Accounts functionality lets you process all of your clients’ accounts in BankLink Practice – even ones that aren’t currently available through The BankLink Service.

How it works:

Using a Provisional Account, you can enter or import transactions supplied by your client until the account is available through The BankLink Service.

Once any of your Provisional Accounts become available through The BankLink Service, we’ll let you know, and then start delivering transactions directly to you.

How to load a Provisional Account:

You complete a Client Authority Form as normal but use the check box to indicate that any accounts not available through The BankLink Service should be supplied as Provisional Accounts.

You will also need to complete our Provisional Accounts Terms and Conditions with your Practice Code and signature. Post your completed forms to us. If you prefer, you can email us your completed Provisional Accounts Terms and Conditions, however the Client Authority Form must be posted to us as we require an original copy.

Provisional Accounts do not expire; you can use them until the account becomes available via The BankLink Service, or your client stops using the account and you ask us to delete it.

Along with the usual load fee, the monthly charge for a Provisional Account is the same as any other account you receive through The BankLink Service, of course there is no charge for transactions.

Where to start

Before you can start using the Provisional Accounts functionality you must upgrade to BankLink Practice 2011, click here to find out how.

Upgrading to the latest release is easy, both for your practice and for your clients. It’s done through the software and takes only minutes.

Once you have upgraded to BankLink Practice 2011, your BankLink Books clients will be prompted to upgrade their software the next time they receive a file from you. Your BankLink Notes clients will also need to carry out an upgrade.
